Home and Lifestyle TV : Gordon Biersch

"Brewmaster" is a term that many people don't take lightly. On Home and Lifestyle TV's "Hot Spot" of the week - we featured Gordon Biersch Brewery in the Shops at Legacy in Plano.

Gordon Biersch was the perfect end to a long production day, featuring the BEST Southwest Egg Rolls and Amazing Garlic Fries to compliment our tasting of their 4 Gordon Biersch beers. I have to say, it is no secret that several producers of HLTV are beer lovers (me included).

We were brought samples of all 4 custom, Gorden Biersch Brewery beers, and honestly loved each one - all presented in their designated beer glasses (or jug in one case).

A live band soon arrived and the party started! I have to say, we do a LOT of entertainment exploring around DFW, and we couldn't help but noticing that this was a happening place!

Fun, attractive people of all ages, live music, amazing food that perfectly complimented excellent beer - this was EXACTLY why we found Gordon Biersch a "Hot Spot of the Week" for Home and Lifestyle TV!

Watch the TV segment we produced for Gordon Biersch here:

As a part of "Shopping is My Cardio" segment featuring Linda Cooper, We focused our cameras on 4 great shops in the Shops at Legacy in Plano, as well as 2 "Hot Spots" of the week - the U Boutique and Med Spa and Gordon Biersch. Watch the video here:

Life is Good at Jake's Loft

Life IS Good, especially at Jake's Loft in Southlake, Texas! Home and Lifestyle TV is currently featuring Jake's Loft on our show, due to air on our November 16th episode at 1:30pm on WFAA channel 8 (ABC).

Being huge advocates of positive attitude and positive energy, the HLTV producers are excited to feature the stories of Jake's Loft owners Dyane and Lynn Arrn. If you are not aware of the "Life is Good" brand, you MUST go to www.jakesloft.com to see what all the buzz is about!

Taking the nation by storm - the main cartoon-ish character named Jake (hello - "Jake's loft") is featured in many life scenarios, simply enjoying life and reminding us to do the same. In the words of shop co-owner Lynn Arnn, "When you get up in the morning and put on "Life is Good" t-shirt of Jake hangin' with his dog, you just can't have a bad day!"

The producers of HLTV have been fans of "Life is Good" brand products for a couple of years, first discovered in a crowded Estes Park Colorado shop. Then rejoice ensued with the opening of Jake's Loft - just a few doors down from the Southlake Central Market (another dream come true for our show's producers).

Needless to say, stickers, shirts and apparel begun spreading throughout the office like a wildfire out of control. Yet one we enjoy to the fullest. You see, the "Life is Good" brand is all about enjoying life. It's all about not taking life too seriously, and in these times - what more do you need from a product line that reassurance? Its a win-win situation for both Jake's Loft, the "Life is Good" brand and now for Home and Lifestyle TV.

We will fully endorse Jake's Loft's winning brand, and darn everything we can to ensure everyone that .... "Life is good!"

Check out Jake's Loft yourself online now at www.jakesloft.com!

Producers on being on Home and Lifestyle TV

I would like to start by saying, "I LOVE, LOVE my job" of taking a featured guest or product - and creating an edu-taining tv segment for the show.

If you haven't taken the opportunity to watch the show, Home and Lifestyle TV is basically a fusion of HGTV (home and garden channel), The Food Channel and Discovery Channel.  All with our own local flair in each tv market.

As producers of the show, we are responsible for searching out interesting and relevant content for the show. The challenging part is, guest featuring local clients whom have great, tv-worthy products and services - yet have never appeared on tv before. This create both a challenging and interesting dynamic that is overcome segment after segment. With over 15 years of TV production experience, we have created methods that make it smooth as butter.

I would share some of these elements, but would rather side-step giving away company secrets. Lets just say we have the process down to a fine art, as well as our fabulous hosts - i.e. The adorable Tara Darby (Dallas - Fort Worth Show) and Ashley Poole (Colorado Show), making the clients feel completely at ease in front of the camera. To further show how much fun we have producing the show, go to the www.homeandlifestyletv.com website and click on the "Bloopers and Out takes" segments. Or click http://www.homeandlifestyletv.com/media/HLTV_outtakes1.wmv to watch now.

It never fails! You would think the word "Action!" meant "someone make some loud noise that makes it completely impossible to hear the speaker on camera!" Or "Bring in the Harley rally so that we can make this a 3 hour thing, rather than a 30 minute thing." Another meaning of "Action!" must be "to forget all the lines and details right now." This is one we have lots of fun with however, and will be added regularly to our library of bloopers and out takes.

But overall, we have nothing but an old fashioned - great experience on the location of each tv segment, filled with lots of laughs and side-ribbing. Its just the best way to get genuine, all American interviews on camera without looking forced.

Thanks for reading!

Aaron Stewart - The Educated Dog

There are a handful exceptional featured guests of Home and Lifestyle TV that were so impacting to our viewers, that we are working with them on projects separate from the HLTV.

One of these is the owner of "The Educated Dog," Aaron Stewart. Aaron is a dog behavioral trainer with a tremendous background in canine training including experience with military and police programs, as well as celebrities such as Pro Football's Troy Aikman.

Aaron has always been a top-downloader from the www.homeandlifestyletv.com website, bringing his fun personality and "to the point" info to our show's viewers. In fact, the producers of the show are somewhat convinced that Aaron to some degree - IS a dog himself. Which appropriates further the name of his business.

When we first met the dog trainer extraordinaire,  we had little faith that he could actually help us with our fun and "sometimes out-of-control" doberman, Roxi. The fact that Roxi decided to behave before Aaron even stepped out of his car - provided us first hand proof that telepathy and/or the supernatural truly exists.

I laughed, snorted, and mumbled under my breath as he told us that he could walk Roxi without a leash within 5 minutes. Roxi behaved like he had been ruled by Aaron from birth. Bizaaaar!

After eating my words, mumbles and gestures, Aaron had me doing the same in the following 10 minutes! We simply couldn't believe our eyes. We then moved on to potty training, controlling the "grand central station" that most people call a couch, basic behavioral control issues and more. All within a 2 hour training session.

We could clearly see why Aaron has all the labels of a "must call" dog expert. Since the first airing of his segment, we have brought him back several times as well as his appearing on CBS 5's morning news programs several times.

With all the buzz surrounding Aaron Stewart and his methods of showing us how to think like a dog, we could not refuse teaming up with the Educated Dog to produce a series of dog training videos. We anticipate the release by sumer of 2009. You won't want to miss these videos if your a dog owner.

You can contact Aaron Stewart directly at his website: www.theeducateddog.com,
